Dr.Hiroshi Shibata was born on July 26, 1937 at his mother’s home in Kitami, Hokkaido, Japan. In April 2002, he organized the first Gerontology program in Japan to enroll at Oberlin University. Since the field of interdisciplinary gerontology is diverse, special lectures on the latest academic and social issues are held by domestic and international experts, product and service development, market development, motivation and social contribution. Established in 2017 as the first director with the aim of becoming a network center for the aging society by helping to create programs and establishing care methods centered on those affected by the disease. He passed away suddenly on December 22, 2024. He put the model of science into practice. At the root of Shibata’s gerontology is the pursuit of the purpose of life, which is to eliminate the contradiction between justice and power.
